Wick suggestions?

Hi! I am a massage therapist and wanted to make my own candles. I tried 100% beeswax, 100% soy wax, and a 50/50 mix, but have not been satisfied with the resulting flame. I must have the wrong wick. For the tea lights, I have been using the prewicked tabs (WC-7U). They burn great for about 5 minutes. Then, the flame dies back to almost nothing and only melts a tiny well in the candle before burning out. Same problem with my votives. I am using a candle mold with a nail (so swapping wicks in and out is no problem). Wicks tried are prewicked tabs WC-8U, and prewicked tabs from another manufacturer 36-24-24 cotton (heavier than WC-8U). The candles seem very hard and the resulting flame is tiny. Only melts a well in candle, burns out. Please advise. Thanks.

Beeswax is very durable wax. You need a vary large wick compared to paraffins & soys. For my beeswax tea lights I use the 8U ultra core votives and that is with just beeswax no frag/color/adds. For my votives I have used an 9A 44-22-18 zinc, 10D 51-32-18 zinc, and an htp105. Ive noticed different batches of beeswax also burned slightly different. Even if you mix the beeswax with soy I still think you need a much larger wick.

what wick would you suggest using other than zinc core? beeswax to me is a little to expensive to end up using zinc core wicks

HTP wicks seem to be the next "hottest burning" wick compared to zinc. The square braid works good too.
